Marco Rubio's Ageist Attack on Hillary Clinton

It's an extremely crude attack from a party that gave us Reagan at 69-remember Reagan's admittedly very good response to questions of his age?

So if Rubio thinks the Gipper was a great President he is admitting that her age is irrelevant. Yet, he's claiming otherwise:

"White House hopeful Marco Rubio will deliver a speech today proclaiming we “need a new president for a new age,” adding: “New opportunities cannot be seized by old ideas, and the future must be embraced with enthusiasm and vision.”

"This message, which seems aimed equally at Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton, is a reminder that a younger GOP nominee will argue that the likely Dem nominee is a politician of the past. But can Republicans credibly make that case while arguing for undoing all of Obama’s efforts at international engagement and holding out against immigration reform and gay marriage?"

This purely ageist line is the best he can come up with? The vileness of it is compounded by the fact that in general everyone from the media to other candidates-to average Americans-seem more comfortable making it an issue for Hillary as a woman. I don't remember this being an issue with Mitt Romney.

In addition, as Greg Sargent says, even if he's younger than her it's his ideas that are far older.

What you see is that none of the attacks on her are ever substantive. There's another quite absurd meme that she gets special treatment from the press! Yes, especially bad!

"Jonathan Allen candidly explains the current incarnation of the “Clinton Rules” that shape the way reporters cover Hillary Clinton. Anyone who thinks the media is being easy on her should give it a read."
