Part of me wants to say 'What took him so long.' He's clearly never enjoyed my comments. However, even in telling me 'not to comment here' he lies by claiming that he's told me this 'many times.' Right-that's close. Exactly once, This was his first time.

Think about it. If this were true why did he keep answering my comments all along?
He played the 'Either a moron or lying' game. Predictably when I asked him for any basis for either he couldn't come up with anything.
In a way, this is a pattern for me. I have a long proud history of being banned from websites.

However, the difference between those sites and Sumner is my time at these liberal sites was much shorter-Daily KOS banned me after 1 day. Meanwhile they still continue to send me emails asking for donations.

I don't seem to have much luck commenting elsewhere then. What's interesting is that while I'm a liberal I've done very poorly at liberal sites-at least Sumner was 4 years before he said uncle.
This is why I have my won blog as here I can say what I like without this stepping on someone else's tender sensibilities. But why don't I seem to do well commenting elsewhere:
1. Ideologically I may not be a great fit. While someone like Sumner probably thinks of me as an out and out Commie in fact many leftists have been uncomfortable with me. I may just have the worst of all worlds. I'm too liberal for conservatives but not liberal enough for the liberals at the sites I was banned from above.
2. Beyond that, I probably have to much to say. I'm not interested in being just one voice in a chorus. This my unsettle some hosts.
3. Quite honestly I'll just have to say it: many may find my intellect intimidating. Hey only the truth hurts like the African Americans say.
4. My style is not to agree with either other commentators or the host and echo what they are all saying. I've been accused of being a 'troll' more than once.
The definition of a troll though seems to often just be someone who disagrees with us. Why can't he just shut up, the lousy troll!
5. Back on ideology I'm a liberal but I'm not a leftist-if you can follow my distinction. Even less am I any kind of populist-which is something I hold in very low esteem. For me populism means an emotional reaction where a group of people are fired up and don't really care about the facts.
I especially don't like people whose favorite word in the world is fuck. Why do some people so love profanity?
For me, my liberalism is more in the Whig tradition. Despite my blog title-which I know outrages some 'How can he talk of hating anyone!'-I'm not a fan of wild eyed talk of 'Screw the bankers, down with the elites!'
I am in no sense of the word a socialist whatever Sumner might think.
I agree with Gary Wills and his idioyosincratic version of conservatism: elites are important. I get impatient with people who think sentiment is more important than knowledge.

You might say I'm a conservative liberal but then this misses the point that I think liberals are the real conservatives-real liberals not the folks that offer all this screeching over at Firedoglake.
6. Finally, I am sometimes now a days able to leave comments and get along alright. I think that's because now that I have my blog so I don't see my comments on other blogs as all that consequential. I'm mostly trying to see what I can learn.
Sumner's responses always showed that he's very insecure. I actually get along better with most of his MM friends. Nick Rowe shows it's possible to disagree and yet have reasoned discourse.

David Glasner is always classy and I think that Lars Christensen and Marcus Nunes have some great posts-Sumner has his good ones too. But I guess on some level he himself feels 'in over his head' as he tries to tell me I am. Whatever, I'll still read him anyway because I'm not going to let him off that easy.

Mike, your first link doesn't seem to work, and it's not in the usual format for a MoneyIllusion post. Are you sure it's correct? Here's the usual format for a URL to a particular post:

Ok Tom, try this one out.

Thanks Mike, that worked.
