Rick Santorum is Still in Kansas, Blows out Romney 52-21

This was a pretty nice headline for me to read. As you know I'm a big fan of Santorum. You know how they talk about Reagan Democrats? Well I'm a Santorum Democrat. Why? Because for one thing he really deserves the nomination more than Mitt, who's as phony as a $ 3 dollar bill.

Yes, Rachel Maddow called it a few weeks ago when she said "Democrats are like ssssh! The Republicans are about to nominate Rick Santorum. Don't say anything."

That's certainly my attitude. I know there are some earnest liberals out there who will tell you be careful what you wish for, Santorum could prove tougher than you think. No. I'm not going to be careful. I really, really, really wish for Santorum to win.

Call me overconfident but I don't see the independents and swing voters voting for a guy who not only questions Roe v. Wade, but even the Griswold decision about birth control in the mid 60s.

Again, Santorum really deserves it. He is running as what he is. Romney's fakery just gets worse and worse.

While neither Romney or Gingrich campaigned much in Kansas, it was important as Santorum said himself that he did very well here, which he certainly did. The hope is this will be the first of his 'dominos", hopefully propelling him into Mississippi and Alabama next Tuesday.

"In Kansas, Santorum set the bar high for himself in the days before Saturday’s caucuses, telling supporters at rallies in Lenexa, Wichita and Topeka that a win in Kansas — which he called part of the conservative heartland — could help propel him forward in Mississippi and Alabama."

At this point, the polls in Alabama have shown Romney, Santorum, and Gingrich neck and neck in Alabama with about 4 points separating all three, while at least one poll showed Gingrich leading in Mississippi.

The hope is that this win might make conservatives turn to Santorum more heavily. Tell you what. If I was rich enough I'd start my own Super Pac that would pay Newt more than the $20 million his donor from Las Vegas Sands paid him, the only catch being he take himself out of this race altogether.

Right now the trouble is that Newt may well do very well in the South, thereby splitting the conservative vote, leaving Romney to mop up on the coasts, and moderate states in general.
