In choosing the title I decided to make it positive rather than negative. I originally was thinking of writing "Why Mitt Romney Doesn't Deserve the GOP Nomination" but decided on putting it in a positive way.
Cause Sanoturum really does deserve it. Romney has shown himself yet again to be a phony with this question about the antiabortion Blunt amendment in Virginia. Does he agree with it or not?
He had initially said he doesn't support it and that the government has no business getting involved in a private relationship between a man and woman-Amen.
Of course, his campaign explained to him that he's supposed to believe the government should get involved in it. Then he was on his old Mass buddy Howie Carr explaining that of course he misunderstood the question and that he supports the Blunt amendment.
There is no question that Romney is by instinct more moderate. But his shameless pandering makes him wholly undeserving of the party's nomination. Santorum may be nuts, but he's straight about it and seems to represent the views of much of the party. The reason Romney's campaign is so weak is he can't admit who he really is. If they let Democrats vote in the GOP primary here in NY I'll vote Santorum. In my opinion if you can you should too.
