If you wonder why I've been so focused on the EU and Greece lately, I reminded myself this mroning. I watched the morning Sunday shows-Face the Nation and Meet the Press and it reminded me why.
It's a bit sobering to watch Germany offer euros in exchange for 27% of Greece's GDP but at least it's not boring.
The US media has been obsessed with Bernie and Donald for weeks and I just can't say I share the fascination.
I've explained before that I don't care about Bernie Sanders. I have nothing against him. Of course, he was on Face the Nation. For the most part there's no liberal agenda item important to me that he supports and Hillary doesn't.
For the most part the only way he differentiates himself is by raising the bloody shirt of breaking up the banks. But that's an old fight and I'm not even sure that was the best move. In any case, How would a Bernie Sanders Adminisrraton do this with a GOP Congress-I'm presuming the Dems pick up seats but not enough to take back the House though they have a good shot at the Senate.
The TPP he criticizes her for not opposting but I have no problem for her taking time to make up her mind as I am doing the same thing. It's not the bloody shirt in my mind it is for some liberals.
There is a narrative that what he is doing is pushing Hillary to the left. I don't know if this is true or not-she really is a liberal though you'd never know to hear the Hillary bashers.

I don't know that she needs to be pushed but if her speech tomorrow about the need to raise wages was inspired by him then I appreciate it though I doubt it.
I like Bernie fine but he's just become a conduit for white liberals who hate Obama and will never let it go. His numbers with minorities are very weak.

As for Trump, I'm all for his candidacy though I get a little bored watching pundits gurgle their delight in it.
He's a problem for the GOP precisely because there's nothing he says that the GOP party actually disagrees with substantively.

"Most Republicans are more anti-immigration than their party’s official stance. In a May 2015 Pew Research Center survey, 59 percent of Republicans said their party has not done a good job representing their views on immigration. That number spikes up to 65 percent among Republicans who do not believe that immigrants who entered illegally should be allowed to stay in any fashion. In other words, the subject is the perfect springboard for an outsider presidential candidate like Trump to talk to these voters."
"Republicans are generally not predisposed to think of Trump’s harsh remarks as racist, as many in the media have called them. In aSeptember 2014 Pew poll, just 28 percent of Republicans said they believed that Hispanics face a lot of discrimination in the United States. To cite one example, Sean Hannity, the conservative talk-show host, said recently that Trump’s remarks were not “racially tinged.” A majority of Democrats (64 percent), on the other hand, said there was a lot of discrimination against Hispanics in the U.S."
"Trump’s populist grandstanding, in fact, lines up with the views of a high percentage of Republicans. A majority of Republicans think immigrants — regardless of how they entered the U.S. — “burden” the country rather than make it stronger. In the May 2015 Pew survey, 63 percent of Republicans felt this way compared with 32 percent of Democrats. Just 27 percent of Republicans said immigrants made the country stronger, which was the lowest percentage recorded since 2004."

Ok, now you see why I like talking about Greece better. Regarding the Bernie and Donald Show you can wake me up when it's over.
