There He Goes Again: Romney Again Taking Credit For ObamaCare

You talk about talking out of both sides of your mouth! Romney has taken this feat to a whole new level. The Economist who in it's latest edition declares that 'the American people will not vote for this man and neither for that matter would this paper' sure got it right:

""WHEN Mitt Romney was governor of liberal Massachusetts, he supported abortion, gun control, tackling climate change and a requirement that everyone should buy health insurance, backed up with generous subsidies for those who could not afford it. Now, as he prepares to fly to Tampa to accept the Republican Party’s nomination for president on August 30th, he opposes all those things. A year ago he favoured keeping income taxes at their current levels; now he wants to slash them for everybody, with the rate falling from 35% to 28% for the richest Americans."

"All politicians flip-flop from time to time; but Mr Romney could win an Olympic medal in it (see article). And that is a pity, because this newspaper finds much to like in the history of this uncharismatic but dogged man, from his obvious business acumen to the way he worked across the political aisle as governor to get health reform passed and the state budget deficit down. We share many of his views about the excessive growth of regulation and of the state in general in America, and the effect that this has on investment, productivity and growth. After four years of soaring oratory and intermittent reforms, why not bring in a more businesslike figure who might start fixing the problems with America’s finances?"

Well he's now set a new Olympic world record. He's now managed to pat himself on the back for passing RomneyCare in the same breath that he attacks the President for passing Obamacare while fallaciously claiming that RomneyCare somehow didn't raise taxes where ObamaCare does while throwing the fallacious claim that Obama cut $717 billion from Medicare. This is the ultimate hat trick:

"“I’m the guy who was able to get all the health care for all the women and men for my state,” Romney said in an interview aired on “Fox News Sunday.” “They were talking about it at the federal level. We actually did something, and we did it without cutting Medicare and without raising taxes.”
"Romney added that he was “very proud” of his signature on the 2006 law when he was governor of Massachusetts while charging that Obama would cut more than $700 million from Medicare to pay for his health care overhaul."

“Romney has a Hobson’s choice. Obama will hit him if he distances himself on the Massachusetts plan, or Obama will play up the plan as the basis for Obamacare if Romney owns it,” GOP strategist Keith Appell said.
“What’s important for Romney to do is maintain what he has promised conservatives: that he will repeal Obamacare on Day One of his presidency. And all conservatives — in Congress and at the grass-roots level — need to hold his feet to the fire on that. If he wins and the Republicans control Congress, he has to repeal Obamacare immediately if he wants things to go smoothly from that point forward.”
Last Thursday, Romney also mentioned the health care law in an interview with a Denver television station. He pointed out that his plan didn’t raise taxes.

A Hobson's Choice of how to lie basically. Nice going by Politico to by claiming that Romney "pointed out that his plan didn't raise taxes" as if that's an established fact rather than a fallacious assertion. Nice job. I see they drink from the same water as CNN people like Cooper Anderson and Jim Acosta.

They all drink from the same David Brooks flavored Shirley Temple. We've truly seen an unprecedented feat today in the Olympic sport of grotesque flip flopping. Kudos to Politico for not even pushing back at all. I mean it's a fact that Obama raised taxes and Romney didn't with the same exact plan that for the record, Romney had urged the President to push in 2009.

So will the conservatives hold Romney's feet to the fire? No? Well that just shows that ObamaCare isn't the real reason they hate the President so much. They want to beat him so badly for reasons that go way beyond anything that can be expressed with reason.

It turns out that Andrea Saul's "gaffe" was just a "test drive." Romney's pitch to women is this then:

Vote for me because I passed ObamaCare in Massachusetts. Vote against Obama because he passed Obamacare nationally, although I told him to do it in 2009. By the way when I get into office the first thing I will do is repeal Obamacare. Of course I have also promised to eliminate Planned Parenthood on the first day and declare China a currency manipulator on the first day.

Yes, it's quite an itinerary for that "first day." He's also promised to make unicorns exist and declare the moon made out of cheese.

Shamelessness thy name is Mitt Romney. And you, the David Brooks media, are no bargain either.
