Ron Paul Still Undecided About Romney

Romney finally has his nomination formally wrapped up.

"Mitt Romney officially secured the Republican nomination for president when New Jersey delegation cast 50 votes for him at the GOP convention here. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) will be giving the convention's keynote address Tuesday night."

"The New Jersey vote was greeted with an NBA halftime-style light show and sustained cheers from the crowd here."

Yes, Chris Christy-Mr. Congeniality himself. He wants us to believe it's his "modest"-!-stopping him from bragging about "The Jersey Comeback"-you know, instead of the fact that there is no Jersey Comeback with Jersey at 9.8% unemployment, now the fourth highest in the nation. Another victory for austerity.

Still, the exciting thing about Christy is that the odds are very high that he says something stupid that leaves Romney's team scrambling. What would be a nice betting pool is in which direction this stupid comment might go.

There is some fun in Tampa with the Akin fans. They insist on feeling aggrieved by Reince Priebus and the RNC. It's a personal thing they feel, the big machine against a real conservative. Sure, it's personal. It's got nothing to do with the fact that he's upside down in his approval rating by 35 points (23-58).

Interestingly, many of the Missouri delegates thinks Akin's biology lesson about rape victims is not nearly as bad as the liberal media claims.

On the other hand, the other piece of drama is Ron Paul's supporters. Paul has made it a point-after his fans cheered very loudly for him, drowning out Romney supporters, is that he's far from sold on Mitt Romney even now-join the club Mr. Paul. He's "undecided" and does not plan to vote Romney.

"The Minnesota delegation had some choice words for the organizers of the Republican National Convention, which enacted new rules to shut down supporters of former presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Paul took second place in the Minnesota caucuses on their election night, but his backers were able to secure the majority of votes by winning 20 of the 24 congressional district delegates, and then picking up some more that the state's convention."

"Minnesota, where we are very proud of our state Republican Party, which runs a fair convention with integrity," the state delegate said at the RNC on Tuesday night as she announced their count. "We cast 33 votes for Ron Paul, one vote for Sen. Rick Santorum and six votes for Gov. Romney."

"Just after his supporters cheered his arrival at the Republican convention in Tampa Tuesday, Ron Paul declared on Fox News that he is not endorsing the Republican ticket, and has no plans to endorse Mitt Romney or anyone else for president."

“I haven’t endorsed the ticket,” Paul told Neil Cavuto. “I endorse the principles I’ve been talking about, a lot of times on your show, and you basically know what that is. I’m endorsing, you know, endorse peace, prosperity, individual liberty and the constitution. And I’m more intense on that than I am on the politics of that. So in a way, as I drift away from the political action I might even feel more comfortable.”

"Paul entered the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa clad in a colorful Hawaiian lei, as supporters cheered him on."

"The convention has to some degree forced the Romney campaign to smooth over some of the tensions with Paul activists. His delegates agitated for a chance to formally nominate him on the floor for a fair roll call vote, and have protested the exclusion of Paul delegates from Maine, and there is an ongoing fight over a proposed rules change for future delegate selections."
