Romney: Abortion Not on the Ballot, Vote For Him

This is another weird argument from the man with a seemingly bottomless pit of weird arguments. He says that you shouldn't worry about the Republican platform with the Akin Plank-no abortion even in the case of rape, incest, or even the life of the mother-you should just listen to his highly misleading economic arguments against President Obama.

Talk about defying common sense! Some economists-a la Scott Sumner-seem to think there's virtue in economic arguments that defy commons sense. If this is the definition of a great economist then Romney is a great economist.

"Attempting once again to deflect questions about abortion rights raised in the wake of Todd Akin and the draft GOP platform, Mitt Romney suggested to CBS News Monday that abortion rights are mostly outside the president’s purview."

"Abortion rights advocates are scratching their heads at that one."

“Recognize this is the decision that will be made by the Supreme Court,” Romney told CBS. “The Democrats try and make this a political issue every four years, but this is a matter in the courts. It’s been settled for some time in the courts.”

There's no problem recognizing that it's a matter for the courts. Just one question-who decides who's on the court? And Republican voters obviously elect pro-lifers every four years with some expectation those they vote for have some impact on policy. Is Romney claiming they are all mistaken?

Romney has already shown us that he will have a major impact on abortion with him promise to end it on his first day in office. It's going to be a big first day as he's also on this same day promised to repeal ObamaCare and declare China a currency manipulator, first things first.

Actually as he's promised to do each of these things first obviously at least two of these promises were lies.

I guess firing Bernanke may have to wait for the second day. What a slacker! Then maybe on the third he and Ryan will get us on a gold coin currency standard.
