Romney Goes Birther: When is He Going to Step Down?

As there was such furor over Biden using the word "chains" with Repugs like McCain demanding he be removed from the ticket, where are the calls for Romney to step down?

I never got what all the faux outrage about what Biden said was anyway. Unlike Romney's scurrilous intimations about the President's citizenship Biden didn't say anything patently false.

I mean the GOP is trying to put us back in chains. So it wasn't a lie. There was an attempt to make what
Biden said specifically about race as about half the room were African-American. I don't know that it was necessarily about race.

I think they're trying to put us all back in chains-not just African-Americans, but women-Akin, Ryan, Romney-they also want to raise taxes on 95% of Americans and certainly leave those of us with student loan debt "in chains" for evermore.

Romney's message to Hispanic Americans is that they "self-deport" no doubt his buddy Kris Kobach appreciated the line.

However, if they insist on stressing over the racial element, fine. When you consider the voter id push the GOP is on across the country, it's not inappropriate much less inaccurate, to suggest that they want to put black people back in chains.

The voter id laws are nothing less than a poll tax so in that sense they do want to put them back in chains at least at the ballot box. Then of course you realize that if you chain African-Americans at the ballot box you've put them in chains in every other way too. This is nothing less than a demand for Jim Crow, underscored by the Alabama GOP that seeks to roll back parts of the Civil Rights Act of 1964-to keep voting while black down.

Yet the GOP was demanding that Biden step down for making an honest comment-I loved Biden's answer that he has a bad habit of saying exactly what he means.

Whey then shouldn't Romney step down? I notice that when ever there's a scandal with his campaign staff, the staff member in question gets demoted-first there was Rich Gorka, now that woman who was trying to tell journalists what kinds of questions they are allowed to ask Romney got demoted too.

Yet his staff came up with a very weak explanation yesterday for Romney's Birther moment-he was not referring to the President just pointing out that he and his wife are from Michigan.

If that's the case why not stick with the old faithful-do what he did last time when he gushed about all Michigan trees being the same height?

As if there can be any doubt what the birth certificate allusion was to. What is this about? Is Romney now just going to make this election about nothing but the most crudest pandering to the base? He has a number of Birther's speaking in Florida this week.

Rush Limbaugh, of course, love it. Rush was having an on air orgasm. He seems to think this may be a taste of things to come.

Meanwhile you had Jim Acosta at CNN drawing a false equivalence between Romney's Birther comment and the President's Seamus joke.

"Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has finally managed to shift discussion away from his ticket’s views on “forcible rape” and abortion by making a naked appeal to racist birthers at a campaign event in Commerce, Michigan. True to mainstream media form, CNN reporter and Romney campaign embed Jim Acosta was quick to justify Romney’s remark, tweeting “My read: Romney shows he can take the dog on roof stuff and dish it back,” a reference to the President’s non-racist joke about an actually true thing."

Isn't it more and more clear that CNN's definition of "non-partisan" means anti-Democrat? So we see all this faux outrage that Anderson Cooper directs at Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and yet we have CNN giving Romney a pass.

Overall, you have to question the high virtue they think they have in not having an opinion, supposedly. If they give us such good journalism why are their ratings so poor?
