In his interview with Chuck Todd , McCarthy's answer to Chuck Todd's questions amounts to: It's not our fault, it's Obama's fault and we Republicans want to fund DHS we really do, but Obama won't let us.

It's the Democrats fault that Congress failed to fund DHS and was reduced to funding it just on a 5 day basis.

The GOP loves its principles and will never compromise on them, the first of which is to never learn anything from your past follies. This tactic of dumping milk on the other kid's head and saying 'He made me do it' didn't work with Clinton and Gingrich in 1995 and hasn't worked once since yet they again are trying to convince us that really, they want to fund DHS and Obama doesn't.
He says that Republicans value nothing more than funding DHS and keeping Americans safe. This is not true: if they value funding DHS they clearly value trying to force Obama to reverse his executive action on immigration more.
When Todd asks him if this is all going to happen again in 5 days or whether this time the House GOP will vote for the Senate GOP's bill to fund DHS without the rider over immigration reform, he tries to reframe it as 'If Harry Reid will relent, we can get there qucik' which is another obtuse non-answer. He's acting like Harry Reid still runs the Senate. It's Mitch McConnell's Senate.

Nothing has changed, and the House GOP hasn't become more reasonable because the Senate is now in GOP hands. He keeps acting as if that bill is Harry Reid's rather than McConnell's. These principles GOPers: they never let themselves learn anything. The same strategy of the hijackers pretending that they're the ones being hijacked. Surely, this time this will work.
This is why Morgan Warstler is wrong: liberals don't have to do CYB as in time the GOPs will totally impale themselves.
