Store this under the 'Great Minds Think Alike' edition, or at least my mind has been thinking the same thing as Marc Sessler:
"The Bills cannot afford to march into September without a veteran to compete with the scattershot EJ Manuel. The pairing of coach Rex Ryan and Sanchez fizzled out in Florham Park, but bringing the former Jets quarterback to Buffalo feels like a no-brainer. It's depressing to ponder that Sanchez sits atop our ranking of free-agent passers, but he would serve as an adequate bridge quarterback for a Bills team that (a) sports a nasty defense and (b) promises to ground-and-pound the ball under new play-caller Greg Roman. That formula worked well for Rexy and The Sanchize in back-to-back trips to the AFC title game way back when."

As Sessler says it's kind of 'depressing' or at least arresting to think that Sanchez is the highest rated QB in free agency this year-it just underscores how important a franchise QB is which is why Giants fans ought to be as grateful to Eli as John Mara apparently is.

Right now there's speculation about whether the Giants will let Eli be a lame duck in 2015 and take a 'wait and see attitude.' Let's hope they don't do this. That Sanchez is the best free agent QB out there shows how tough it is to get a franchise QB. I have no idea what they ought to wait and see. Here is a QB who has never missed a start in his career, has 2 SB rings, and may have had a career year last year. Ok, the team had a bad year but how can that possibly be Eli's fault?
As for Sanchez, he probably even now hasn't wholly proved himself. He played pretty well at times for Philly but wasn't wholly consistent. Here are his career numbers

Still, he could provide a real spark in Buffalo while they figure out whether or not Emmanuel has what it takes to be a franchise QB or not. If things go well, this could be quite a reunion.
