Resolved: Other Teams in NFL Cheat Other than the Patriorts but it Doesn't Always Help

Turns out that the Falcons have cheated the last few years by creating artificial crowd noise, or at least so says the NFL.

Apparently they stand to be levied fines and lose draft picks. They're supposed to have done this the last 2 years which tells us one thing at least: cheating is overrated. I mean the team is 10-22 in those 2 years. In the last game of this year astonishingly, thanks to playing in the NFC South-the worst division in the NFL by far this year-they had a shot to win the division if they could just beat the visiting 6-8-1 Carolina Panthers. They lost 34-3. Yet they had artificial noise?

I guess if they hadn't done this it wouldn''t have been so close. As bad as that team is I guess they needed to create fake crowd noise-as so few fans actually came. Maybe they weren't so much taking an unfair advantage as trying to make up a major disadvantage.

Meanwhile we have some more details on Deflategate: turns out only one ball was down a full 2 pounds in weight-some were down about 1 pound-and a number were down only a negligible amount.

But this shows that the Patriots accomplishments are all fake according to Jets Fan Nation-I describe everyone in this group as all those who envy NE their success and love this story as it makes them feel less bad about their own team: doesn't have to be the Jets.

As to the game, it's a tough one to call. I mentioned in a previous post that in classic offense vs. defense matchups-not every SB is such  a classic matchup, far from it-defense usually seems to come up on top-though not always.

These are two such good teams and accomplished franchises. Emotionally I think the Pats might even have the edge with all this Deflategate nonsense.

However, as Bellichick would be the first to say, the only thing that matters is which team plays better on the field. I'm prdicting Seattle-though this is far from a sure thing. I'd say I'm about 55% to 60% confident.

My strategy with this game is to take the Pats in the first half but to take the Hawks for the game. Maybe I'll put something on Seattle for the 4th quarter. At least I probably won't be wiped out that way.

   Bellichick seems confident.

He thinks his team has practiced enough. Still, this might be because what Seattle will do on defense is not complicated, just very tough to beat. The Pats on offense like to trick defenses. The trouble with Seattle is you don't trick them. They do the same thing every game.

In this case Spygate wouldn't help.

Stealing their defensive signals wouldn't help much anyway.

It should be a great game-I like probably most fans are just anxious for the game to start already. I can't wait to see who is the greatest. Either we will have a team win 2 SBs in a row or a team win 4 SBs under the same QB and coach, neither of which happens too much.
