Obama's Super Pac Has Record Month

In August Priorities USA had a record month with $10 million dollars raised. While the post Citizens United world has shown Romney routing Obama in the Super Pac arms race so far, Ryan's entering the race along with concern among Dems about Romney's money advantage as helped pick up the pace:

"The pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA reported a record fundraising haul of $10 million in August, the New York Times reports:
“Democrats have seen the threat from Karl Rove and the Koch brothers and they are responding,” said Bill Burton, a spokesman for Priorities USA. “There is still a long way to go, but this is a big step in the right direction to getting President Obama re-elected.”

The story of fundraising in this campaign however may well be that less can be more. Despite being outraised by such a large margin, Bill Burton's Super Pac has been effective-the Romney campaign admits privately that the Bain attacks have really hurt.

It''s welcome news if the Dem donors have finally figured out what's at stake here-nothing less than FDR's New Deal.

As Priorities has managed to have outsized effectiveness, if it will be able to raise more going out this bodes very well.
