"The pro-Obama super PAC Priorities USA reported a record fundraising haul of $10 million in August, the New York Times reports:
“Democrats have seen the threat from Karl Rove and the Koch brothers and they are responding,” said Bill Burton, a spokesman for Priorities USA. “There is still a long way to go, but this is a big step in the right direction to getting President Obama re-elected.”http://livewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/entry/nyt-priorities-usa-sets-fundraising-record-in-august
The story of fundraising in this campaign however may well be that less can be more. Despite being outraised by such a large margin, Bill Burton's Super Pac has been effective-the Romney campaign admits privately that the Bain attacks have really hurt.
It''s welcome news if the Dem donors have finally figured out what's at stake here-nothing less than FDR's New Deal.
As Priorities has managed to have outsized effectiveness, if it will be able to raise more going out this bodes very well.
