Romney Advisor: Obama 'Doesn't Fully Get our Anglo-Saxon Heritage'

See, moments like this are teachable moments because they tell us what the Obama haters really believe. Romney is already trying to distance himself from this-what else is new? He's trying to distance himself from his most notable achievement in public service-Obamacare.

A week ago it was why can't the President 'learn to be an American.' It was hardly the first time they have shown unprecedented disrespect for the President of the United States-from 'You lie' to Issa's sneering about 'If it's Barrack'-now here they go again.

Romney's is a campaign running on empty as most Republicans also know-just ask Rupert Murdoch, Irving Kristol or Scott Walker.

In the absence of any details on either his personal biography that he has wanted to run on or what his actually policies are-usually he tells us to elect him and he'll tell us later-the Romney campaign has been desperate and flailing wildly.

They printed up a bunch of t-shirts as part of a marketing campaign based on taking the President out of context in a speech he gave-'you didn't build that.' Well the President 'didn't say that.'

Now we have another Romney adviser complaining that Obama doesn't 'understand our Anglo-Saxon heritage' in what has to be the most blatant case of race baiting yet.

"An adviser to Mitt Romney told a London paper that Obama has not been an effective partner for Britain because he doesn’t “fully appreciate” America’s “Anglo-Saxon heritage.” The racially tinged comments come hours before Romney lands in London for a series of high level meetings and the opening of the Olympic Games."

Jon Swaine of the Daily Telegraph has the story:
In remarks that may prompt accusations of racial insensitivity, one suggested that Mr Romney was better placed to understand the depth of ties between the two countries than Mr Obama, whose father was from Africa.
“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he feels that the special relationship is special,” the adviser said of Mr Romney, adding: “The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have.”
"The comments were the latest attack by the Romney campaign on Obama’s multi-cultural heritage. Last week, Romney campaign co-chair John Sununu said Obama didn’t understand the “American system” because he “spent his early years in Hawaii smoking something, spent the next set of years in Indonesia.” Sununu also said Obama needed to “learn how to be an American.” (Sununu later apologized for that remark.) Later that day Romney called Obama’s policies “extraordinarily foreign.”

This after the Romney campaign had promised not to criticize the President on foreign soil and leave "politics at the water's edge."

The irony is it's actually Mitt Romney who seems not to know much about what it is to be an American for about 99.9% of us. I mean his idea of roughing it was the time he and his wife had to spend the Summer living off his trust fund. Meanwhile he tries to be authentic by saying things like "I like cars", "I like sport" and "here in Michigan it's great because all the trees are the same height."

UPDATE: The Romney foreign policy advisers continue to make news. Now one of them referred to Russia as the Soviet Union.

This is all a bid to divert from the fact that Mitt Romney's foreign policy discussions have no substance.

This is one reason Kristol went after him-he tried to claim that Reagan called a moratorium on any foreign policy discussions until after the economy was fixed back in 1981!
