I gotta say that as a Giants fan this one was especially sweet. I mean over the years there have been some great wins. At the top of the charts of course is the 17-14 upset of the 18-0 Patriots in Super Bowl 2007. But for me that year almost as sweet was beating Dallas in the run up to the Super Bowl in the 2nd round 21-17.
Anytime by definition the Jints can be Dallas I'm ecstatic. You have to understand that when I was growing up in the 70s and 80s, Dallas owned the Giants. During the 70s the G-Men were also-rans but even in the 80s when they became a good team Dallas had their number.
If the Giants are the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL they have the right quarterback in Eli Manning. Many have claimed their 2007 win was luck and thought it was ludicrous-the word Tiki Barber once used to describe Eli attempting to be a leader in the locker room.
Many still consider Romo superior to Manning despite the fact that Eli beat him in the playoff game and has won a super bowl-with 1 ring by the way that is just as many as Brett Farve had during his career or his brother Peyton has or for that matter Aaron Rogers has(I admit he looks good for another one).
I liked that he went out on a limb back in the summer and said he is in Brady's league. Why not? He beat him again this year and Brady hasn't actually won the super bowl since 2004.
Again if the Giants were to go 2-14 but the two wins were against Dallas I'd consider it a semi-successful year. Yesterday coming in with a 4 game losing streak and everything the Giants did what they had to.
Seems like their only happy when it's hard. After a great start sacking Romo in the endzone for a safety they had plenty of chances to take control. After the safety they marched down the field to the red zone but then had to settle for a field goal. It seemed that just like during the 4 game losing streak they could never put it together. If the offense scored the defense gave it right back. If the defense got a stop then the offense puts the defense back on the field.
Not until it was 34-22 with 5:30 to go did they have Dallas where they wanted them. To beat Dallas in that stadium with the NFC East and the season on the line made it a perfect Sunday.
I will-please drop by often! Value you as a reader
