As the reporter Linette Lopez puts it you can believe what you want to believe about Bank of America's recent dropping of their $5 debit card fee-they call it a "re-defining" which will cut it for most customers.
"It's up to you whether or not you believe Katchpole's petition had anything to do with it, but we think that, combined with all the media attention it got, it likely factored in to these decisions."

There is no way though that it can be denied that Molly's actions had a big part of it that I can see. If you really need proof, all the proof in the pudding you need is that Bank of American met with her personally. That shows, case closed, that she had their attention.
While there were other factors, she was a major lightening rod and a big part of it. Ultimately the threat for millions of Americans to potentially vote with their wallet talked. You want to talk to a bank, money is a very good way to do it.
