Jets Tebowed by Broncos' Sharp Elbows

Actually, not really, but I couldn't resist the pun. I wanted the excuse to use the pun but while Tebow himself had a subpar game the Broncos did hand the Jets their second straight loss 17-13 to drop to 5-5 on the year.

Yet even saying that Tebow had a subpar game is not true entirely, it needs qualification. He had a subpar game throwing the ball completing only 9 of 20 passes for 104 yds and a QB rating of only 104 yards.

However, what QB statistics don't tell factor in are rushing yards. In fact Tebow's 68 yards on just 9 runs led all rushers and gave the Broncos the game. This was Denver's third straight win after beating arch rivals Oakland and KC in successive weeks.

For the Jets I guess we have more proof, assuming it's still needed, that there is more to winning football games than doing a Joe Namath every week and guaranteeing victory. If that were so the Jets would be undefeated as coach Rex Ryan does it every week.

After getting blown out last Sunday to the Pats 37-16 the Jets fell behind by a game but as they have been swept this year by New England this year it was really a 2 game deficit. Last night's loss only adds to it and now puts their post season in jeopardy. Both these teams are 5-5 but going in opposite directions.

About the only saving grace is I'm a Giants fan.
