What do they know that we don't, seeing that they spent the Sunday morning shows bellyaching about Senator Reid's suggestion that Romney may not have paid 10 years of tax returns?
If they don't know anything more than the rest of us how can they know that Reid is lying?
"On the Sunday talk shows, Republicans expressed outrage over Sen. Harry Reid’s (D-NV) unsubstantiated claim that Mitt Romney has not paid taxes in 10 years, flatly accusing the Senate majority leader of lying."
'On ABC’s “This Week,” an incensed Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called Reid a “dirty liar,” saying he “complains about people with money but lives in the Ritz Carlton here down the street.”
“It’s ridiculous, it’s wrong, it’s untrue, and it’s just going to hurt the president,” he said of the claim, accusing President Obama of inciting “division and hatred.”

Nice try Reince, but do you really expect us to believe that if that were true you would want Reid to stop? Let's face it, we know it is hurting someone and that someone is not the President.
"Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Reid’s accusation “is so out of bounds.”
“I think he’s lying about his statement — knowing something about Romney’s [taxes],” Graham said on CNN’s “State of the Union.” “I think he’s created an issue here. I think he’s making things up at a time when the country is just about to fall apart.”
Ah. You "think" he's lying. That doesn't sound any more substantiated than Senator Reid's comments.
On CBS’ “Face The Nation,” Virginia’s Republican Gov. Bob McDonnell called Reid’s charge “reckless and slanderous.”
The one thing that Graham said that's undeniable, is that Reid has created an issue here that hasn't so much "torn the nation to part" as "brought the nation together" in believing that Romney is hiding something and needs to release his tax returns. The GOP doesn't want this nation brought together because if they do it will be at their expense.
While Senator Reid's comments are not substantiated neither is Romney's insistence that he has "paid taxes, lots and lots of taxes."
So are the denials and fury of the GOPers on display this Sunday morning. So, yes. Reid has "created an issue here" but ironically the GOP is now making that issue more potent by discussing it so publicly. This tells us that this issue is not going away anytime soon.
What do they even have a problem with? They've already urged Romney to release his taxes? Now they are trying to run defense for him but this will only exacerbate the issue. This is more and more turning out to be a genius move by Reid, truly inspired.
Reid is Right as Rain ...and Willard is all Wet.
ReplyDelete‘Cause Americans have a damn RIGHT
to see their Presidential Candidate’s tax returns!
Confession is good for the soul Mitt.
So Relax, Repent, and Release your Returns, Mr. Romney …OR…
just return... to playing with your pet dancing pony.
No problem. We’ll understand.
Unless …perhaps ….just perhaps …you’re hiding something dear Willard? Just asking.
P.S. By the way, Mr. Mitt: just how DID you manage to stuff all those millions into your
tax-loophole IRA account?… while the REST of us poor smucks have strict limits?
Inquiring minds want to know.
And you want even MORE tax cuts for you and your rich buddies, Mitt?
WHAT GALL! These fat cats aren’t satisfied - they want it ALL ...EVERYTHING!!
But tell me Mitt, just how many cars and houses can you hog?
...and how many silver spoons can you really stuff into your smirking mouth?
Mitt baby, you can fool some of the people some of the time,
but -please- take my advice: if you want to run for dog-catcher
THEN keep your precious tax returns, and just clean off your car roof.
OTHERWISE, put up, …or shut up and go away
….preferably BEFORE the convention.
The super-rich think that they have the God-given right to do anything
they want in this great country -while the REST of us get screwed!
ENOUGH!!! The divine right of kings ended a long long time ago Mitt.
And so should your sorry excuse for a candidacy.
Nothing personal guy.
Rich, arrogant, power-hungry Republicans are people too!
It's just their "culture" I guess...
Yeah Stan, this is one time they're not fooling anyone. By having everyone in Republican La La Land come out to bash that bad ole Harry Reid, they've given the whole thing legs.
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteMore importantly, what does Harry Reid know? Being that both Reid and Romney are Mormons, Mitt could have Reid brought before church elders and accuse him of bearing false witness. If Mitt doesn't do this, it will by default, validate Reid's claim. At the very least, if Romney does bring it to the church, it will force Romney to show his tax returns to the elders and possibly expose Romney's possible under-tithing for quite some time. Not only is he very wealthy, he even cheats on what he owes his church.
