Romney Pleads For Mercy From Obama Team

Yeah nothing is so seductive as desperation:

"Mitt Romney, battered by Democratic attacks over his Bain Capital record and taxes, is calling on President Obama to agree to a truce over his business career."

" Our campaign would be — helped immensely if we had an agreement between both campaigns that we were only going to talk about issues and that attacks based upon — business or family or taxes or things of that nature,” Romney said, according to excerpts of an upcoming interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd released Friday.

"Romney said he would prefer the campaigns “only talk about issues,” and claimed that “our ads haven’t gone after the president personally. … We haven’t dredged up the old stuff that people talked about last time around. We haven’t gone after the personal things.”

So this is what it's come to? Romney is like France against Germany. You know he was totally ready for one type of war. He thought his Maginot line was impenetrable. Turns out the Obama team simply walked around it.

So he's basically pleading with them to go back to the kind of war he had prepared for. It's like when Elmer Fudd used to try to hunt Bugs Bunny.

In the end poor Elmer would be so frustrated with all Bugs' deft bobbing and weaving that he'd say, "Oh please, Mr. Rabbit, just stand here so I can shoot you."

Romney is like a boxer that says to his opponent that if he'd stop bobbing and weaving he'd have a much better shot at connecting.

This is what the party of Lee Atwater and Karl Rove has come to.

If we can't bash his business record does he have to stop using it as the reason why he understand the economy and the President doesn't?

Alan Breslauer said it best in the comments section at Talking Points Memo:

"Wow. Mitt Romney, who ran almost no positive ads to get his parties nomination, is crying like a baby for the mean Democrats to stop talking about him. A guy who has spent the last 6 years running for President and who said his business experience is why he should be President now wants mean old Democrats to stop talking about his business career. What a joke this guy is. Welcome to the big leagues, the Presidency isn't any place for a wimp. You're the standard bearer for the party that's spent the last 4 years calling President Obama an illegitimate Kenyan, Muslim, socialist, Hitler. Learn to deal you coward."

Or listen to commentator Judie V"

"Seriously, this would be sad it it wasn't so poetic justice type funny. Myth who obliterated Gingrich & Santorum is talking about blistering ads. You ain't seen nothing yet, Myth, get ready to cry big tears, once you get the nomination at the end of August. Team Obama's just getting warmed up, after August the water's going to go from 78 degrees to 150 degrees farenheit. LOL."

Judie's my type of gal-kind of like when Stephanie Cutter told Mitt to put is big boy pants on. Ok, one more, I can't resist. Truth is they're all gold you should check it out if you're loving this as much as I am. Alichia Fatty:

"Can you hear that Romney? It's the world's tiniest violin playing a sad song just for you"

    He then adds this:

"But seriously, what the hell is this: "Our campaign would be — helped immensely..." I didn't realize it was President Obama's job to "help" his opponent's campaign. We've been doing it wrong all along!"
