What it Takes to Make the Conservative CPAC Conference Happy

Mario Rubio has made them unhappy now. They claim he has no chance in 2016 now after he supported immigration reform.

"There's been a flood of stories about the resurgence of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) within the Republican Party, but you wouldn't know it by looking around the 2014 Conservative Political Action Conference.
It's not hard to find supporters of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) or Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) at the conference. Virtually every other person in a crowd is wearing either a "Stand With Rand" sticker or a "Cruz Crew" sticker."

"By contrast it's near impossible to find someone flaunting their support of Rubio. This, despite awave of stories foretelling the return of Rubio as the de facto leader of the GOP and will soon be considered a top-tier candidate for 2016 presidential candidate."

Still, Rubio could still get back on their good side. I mean nobody was more persona non grata than Chris Christie last year. Now they love him. All he had to do was get called out by liberals for his appalling abuse of power to make them love him.

Certain things go over big with the CPAC crowd and certain things don't. One thing that doesn't hurt you at all is being an ex-con.

"During last year’s Conservative Political Action Conference, Bernard Kerik was in federal prison, serving time for tax fraud and lying to federal investigators. At this year’s conference, the former New York police commissioner received a warm welcome from CPAC attendees as he spoke about sentencing reform, and Rick Perry even thanked him for his service."

"A half-hour earlier, the crowd of conservatives cheered on Oliver North, the Marine at the center of the Iran-Contra scandal, as he attacked President Barack Obama for drawing “phony red lines with a pink crayon.”

That line by North shows that a good way to get back in with them right away is to say something very stupid or offensive or preferably both at once. Like in Paul Ryan's speech before the CPAC audience where he praised a child who said he wanted his own lunch. He thought this showed that the boy would rather eat nothing of he can't have his own.

Maybe Rubio should talk to Todd Akin. That would make him gold at the CPAC for sure.
