Bernie's Sandy Hook Shame

This is the front page of the Daily News today and it says it all. Among the many embarrassing aspects of Bernie's disastrous DN interview the other day where he showed little knowledge of the mechanics of even his pet issue of breaking up the banks-and maybe destroying the NY economy-he again said that the gun industry alone should be immune to lawsuits.

So he is doubling down on that NRA legislation of 2005 he helped George W. Bush pass that gives gun manufacturers immunity. Why do they get immunity and not any other industry? The families of the Sandy Hook victims are understandably very disappointed in Bernie's hard to understand stance.

"The families of the Sandy Hook school shooting victims aren’t celebrating Bernie Sanders’s Wisconsin primary win. He said that the parents of the 20 innocent children slaughtered in the attack shouldn’t be able to sue the gun makers and that has the families shaming Bernie for his heartless comments!"

"There are definitely some voters who are not “feeling the Berne.” The families of those victims slaughtered in the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre are shaming Bernie Sanders, 74, for his comments that gun manufactures should be immune from lawsuits, even when their products led to the death of twenty innocent children!"

“Shame on you, Bernie Sanders,” Erica Smegielski, daughter of the Sandy Hook Elementary School principal killed at Newtown, Connecticut, wrote on April 5, per CNN. “Try living one hour of our lives.” Erica linked to front page of the New York Daily News that attacked the Vermont Senator’s “shame.”

As Conneticut Senator, Chris Murphy says:

"Democrats cannot nominate a candidate who believes that toy gun makers should be held to a higher legal standard than real gun makers."
