I was listening to Sean Hannity today-I engage in all kinds of gratuitous self punishment but that's when I'm really in the mood for something kinky-and he was actually trying to claim that you know, conservatives have respect for Executive Privilege that it helps shut down "fishing expeditions."
He then launched onto another one of his childish rants about what the GOP is doing now is not politically motivated it's all about some high minded devotion to "the Truth."
Hannity kept on claiming that Obama has no good reason to invoke Executive Privilege (EP) and so it must mean he has something deep and dark to hide.
Meanwhile we've got the gun nuts over at the NRA claiming that they think this is all about Obama going after the 2nd Amendment.
Yeah, there's no fishing expedition going on here. The fact that EP has been evoked cinches it-something terrible has happened. What it is we don't have the foggiest clue of-but it's really bad. It's about taking all the guns from Americans or arming bandits in Mexico-or something.
Now why would anyone call this a fishing expedition? Just because this contempt charge has never been done in US history and it was done in yesterday's House committee by a strictly part line vote? As I've suggested in previous posts about this farce even if there is a vote next week for contempt which if so will again be strictly party line. the GOP objective-to embarrass Eric Holder and the President during campaign season likely won't work.
Just like the party line impeachment vote of President Clinton in 1998 meant nothing-who remembers or cares about that now? Most people in retrospect take it for what it was-a frivolous. politically motivated hatchet job. Heck, the Republicans most of all by their actions seem to believe this as Clinton is their new hero. They can never praise Clinton enough now. When they talk about old Bill now it's always to wonder why Obama won't "do a Clinton."
My guess-in the next Democratic Administration it will be more of the same Obama will be remembered as a swell guy and no one will remember Issa's politically motivated boondoggle as anything more than another footnote of more GOP obstructionism.

Again, this travesty makes the Ken Starr chronicles look like a moment of dignity. Issa's disrespect for the President comes through again-whiy is it always this President they feel so free to disrespect in this way? From Right wing judges cry ing out "you lie" in the middle of Obama addressing the Senate to some Right wing jounralit interrupting the President last week during his annoucing his executive order to help young illegal immigrants to Issa calling the Attorney General a liar, it's interesting how Right wing troglodytes like Issa never tire of disprespecting this President and his Amdinistration in unprecedented ways.
Is it because he's black? I don't know if that's the only reason but it helps.
After reading all of this, and seeing what the Republiscum did to Mr. Holder yesterday, I am just so F***ing angry I can barely see straight! When revolution engulfs our once proud nation because our politicians decided one Civil War was not enough, I'll be sipping margaritas somewhere else...Why you ask? Because the Republican Party has a wicked and deviant soul. You Idolaters, you Nest of Vipers! Your right-wing, socially narrow minded, bigoted side married to your Religiously misguided and usually too poor to know any better side, married to your immensely rich and completely detached side, all held together by Fox News and the NRA! These mindless, uneducated, hyper-greedy, small-minded bigots, that own a lot of guns, believe in the written gospel of their own twisted fantasies they feel we should all have to live under (but based on the words of hope delivered to man by the one true and loving God, even if it is perverted and mangled), and are increasingly anti-government and paranoid about the end of the world. What a happy bunch uf nuts this Republican party is. I mourn for the spirit of the party and it's soul! You once counted Lincoln and Eisenhower and even the moderate Reagan as your members! Now none of these giants of history would be able to hold their bright candle in the hurricane winds whipped into unimaginable frenzy by the very rich that control your current soul (but you do not see them, you won't believe they control you). You are empty, you are dead. A party that has no barriers and has used this story, this Fast and Furious, as your way of getting at the Democrats. Your actions in this are despicable Issa, LePierre, Boehner, Koch, and Romney! You will do anything, twist any truth, lie any lie, and distort the world to youe unthinking minions as long as you win the election. But be warned! One day these forces you unleash today will be an angry torrent in the future that no political or monetary dam can withstand. The folks that you sell your hatred to will be beholden to it, make it their own, pass it to the next generation and all of this WILL SOW the seeds of discontent that will lead to another Civil War. A war of perceptions today will lead to actual war tomorrow. This happened in Nazi Germany where the scapegoat was the Jewish people and the rest of Europe that lead their people to blindly follow and believe themselves into oblivion. One of the greatest nations on Earth at the time left the world shattered and broken. And so it will come to pass here if the brakes of compassion, love and tolerance are not swiftly applied! I'm sure a future Chinese Leader will thank you greatly for allowing one of the oldest nations on Earth to take over one of it's freest.

We all must do the best we can in getting the word out-I do the best I can. Certainly please encourage all you think who should read this to do so!
