If Manny Pacquaio Loses to Mayweather it Won't be Because He's Smaller

Mosley had dismissed Manny just as Mayweather did. He too had never lost a fight before that day. He had said just before the fight that he was 'Bigger, stronger, and taller. The only thing that worries me is how unworried I am.'

I'm stoked about this one. I've convinced myself that Manny will pull off the unthinkable upset and beat a man who has never lost before. After all, neither had Mosley. He had only ever been knocked down twice in his career before getting knocked down repeatedly by Manny.

Why is Manny going to win?

     1. Skip Bayless fervently believes so. Listen, as Stephen A himself will admit, this guy knows his sports. You might say that there is more to predictions than simply going with whatever Skip Bayless says. Yet it's uncanny how often he's right. I mean he called it on his San Antonio Spurs. First that they would despite being on an 11 game win streak and only needing to win a home game against the New Orleans Pelicans at home to secure the number 2 seed in the West, choke because Skip argued they didn't deserve it-and realized they didn't deserve it!

They promptly went out and lost dropping form the 2 to the 6 seed. Then he calls the Spurs to beat the Clippers in the first round in 7 games. Guess what? Tonight they pay game 7 in LA.

   2. Manny wants this much more than Mayweather. As much as Stephen A tried in his all access with Floyd, what you get from this long interaction is that Mayweather may be 47-0 but he's not looking at this fight as anything special. It's just business he claims. He boasts that he has a lot more money than Manny and that those who root against him are still putting money in his pocket.

True, but this hardly sounds like he wants this.

The narrative for Mayweather is that Manny is just another like the first 47, another pretender who won't lay a glove on him. It's very difficult to even lay a glove on him no doubt.

For Mayweather this is a spiritual quest. So he'll win. As I believe the great Cus D'Amato-the key to boxing isn't physical but spiritual.

Mayweather is no question the greatest defensive boxer ever. He's only even gotten a little bruising in his face like once in all those 47 fights. Mostly, he's never tested just how much punishment he can take.

The odds are against Manny. Mayweather is undefeated, and also bigger and taller. But then so was Mosley, and so was De La Hoya.

As Fox Mulder put it I want to believe. Tonight I believe in Manny Pacquaio.
