Jon Thune Says it all About GOP Opposition to Obamacare

New adventures in GOP policy schizophrenia:

"Here, courtesy of GOP Senator John Thune, is the tweet of the day, and probably the month:
"As this blog predicted. No snark I could come up with would add anything to the rampaging stupidity on display here."

It's not just stupidity-it's sheer perversity. The reason is what I touched on in my post yesterday.

The trouble with conservatives is simple-conservatism. It offers us no new ideas, just reacts to new ideas and tries to thwart them-that's what conservatives are reactionaries. If there were any doubt about this, the last 6 and 1/2 years should clear that up.

Down the line, the GOP Congress opposes ideas of the President without any alternative. Though they never admit this, their clear preference is the Bush status quo-prior to 2009. Whether we're talking about healthcare, immigration, financial regulation, foreign policy, their policy is 'Let's go back to the George W. Bush year.'

As he can't run again, they're going to nominate the next best thing: his younger brother.

To be sure, they can't embrace W the man-to be seen in public with him, even today, is simply unthinkable-a few years ago the GOP had Cheney come speak foreign policy in the Senate and they didn't allow any cameras in the room.

P.S. I know subtlety is not the strong point of the Right so let's spell it out: there's a way to avoid the loss of healthcare subsidies. Drop the lawsuit. If you don't then you're the one depriving people of their subsidies not Obama for giving it to them.
