For Those Who Criticize Hillary for not Taking About Issues

It's actually, like so much of what the Beltway press says about her-mostly because they don't like her-not true. She's taken any number of positions-on immigration, on the Baltimore riots, she came out with an entire economic program in concert with Center for American Progress.

Yesterday, Paul Waldman picked up a repetitive refrain of the press-that she needs to treat them better.

I argued that Hillary should offer to do a press conference in front of the media where they can ask her anything they want except questions regarding:

     1. Emails

     2. Her husband's Clinton Global Initiative

How many media takers would this offer get?

Today Ms. Clinton is indeed discussing a vital issue-voting rights.

"Seeking an expansion of voting rights, Hillary Rodham Clinton plans to call for an early voting period of at least 20 days in every state and push back against Republican-led states that have sought restrictions on voting access."
The Democratic presidential candidate is speaking Thursday at Texas Southern University in Houston, a historically black university. Democrats have filed legal challenges to voting changes from GOP lawmakers in the presidential battleground states of Ohio and Wisconsin.

Clinton's campaign said she intends to denounce voting restrictions in North Carolina, Texas, Florida and Wisconsin and encourage states to adopt a new national standard of no fewer than 20 days of early in-person voting, including weekend and evening voting.

This an issue that the press should talk about and see what Jeb and his competitors in the GOP primary have so say about it. He nor any of they will support this.

But what does the media care about voting rights? Much better to parse every single transaction ever run through the Clinton Global Initiative-even though unlike the money Jeb handles, it's a totally philanthropic organization that does great good in the world.
